Upon registration, a non-refundable deposit is required for each camp registered to secure a spot. Participants have ten business days from the date of registration to cancel the summer camp for a full refund, inclusive of the non-refundable deposit. After the cancellation period, a $100 non-refundable fee per camp will be deducted from the remaining camp fees eligible for a refund.
In consideration for the Registrant’s opportunity to participate in the Program, the receipt and sufficiency of which is hereby acknowledged, I hereby release and forever discharge Empower Learning Centre, its respective officers, directors, employees, volunteers and agents, and their respective successors and assigns, from any and all liability for damages sustained in consequence of loss, injury or damage to the Registrant, and from all other actions, causes of action, claims, demands or damages of any kind with respect to death, injury, loss or damages to any person or property arising out of or connected with preparation for, or participation in, the Program session. In order to ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals participating in the Program, Empower Learning Centre reserves the right to alter the Program at any time without notice or compensation to the Registrant.
Art can be messy and not all products used in, sold by, or recommended by Empower Learning Centre are washable. Please ensure the participant wears clothing and shoes that can get messy or stained.
In the event of an accident, injury, or illness involving the Registrant, and immediate contact by Empower Learning Centre with a designated contact cannot be made, I hereby authorize and grant permission to Empower Learning Centre staff or volunteers to secure proper medical treatment and authorize, on the Registrant’s behalf, all procedures, including, without limitation, admission to an emergency unit, hospital, and treatment therein, ordering of x-rays, tests, or treatment, injections, anesthesia, and/or surgery, as deemed necessary by the attending medical professional(s). I agree not to hold Empower Learning Centre or its staff, volunteers, directors, owners, or representatives responsible for any costs or injury arising out of an emergency situation. In order to ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals participating in the Program, Empower Learning Centre reserves the right to alter the Program or withdraw the individual at any time without notice or compensation to the Registrant.
Empower Learning Centre is committed to protecting personal information by following responsible information handling practices. We collect and use information you volunteer when you access or register for an Empower Learning Centre program, in order to better meet your service needs, to ensure a safe environment, for statistical and assessment purposes, to inform you about the Program in which you are registered, and to satisfy government and regulatory requirements. You may also hear from us periodically about other Empower Learning Centre programs, services, and opportunities that may interest and benefit you. We do not share your personal information with any other business other than to process your registration transactions through our payment processor. We will never sell or give your personal information to any other business, except as described for registration transactions.
In the studio: Empower Learning Centre may from time to time ask a participant if we may photograph unidentifiable views of participants and/or full views of their artwork for the purpose of its own marketing materials, in print, on the web, or on social media. The face and identifiable likeness of a child or youth will not be captured nor shared without express consent from a parent or guardian. For example, we may take a picture over a child’s shoulder as they are drawing or painting. We may ask a child or youth artist to hold their artwork up to obscure their face and take a photo. If any child or youth refuses an obscured photo, we will respect their choice.
